Return of the Gangsta Boogie - Female Hip Hop, Latin, Jazz and Funk vocal; without Autotune. This is an original Electro, R&B, Hip Hop, Dubstep production in Ableton live. A three part story in rock, dance, rhythm, and blues. This is a collection of contrasts and a collection of sonic unity. The music features the three following sections.
Part 1. The Dojah - It begins with contrasting high and low energy vocals, rebellious lyrics, and then it ends with smooth Rnb funk and seductive lyrics.
Part 2. Lala Sha - This section is centered on the freestyle dance groove and club battle style lyrics and reggae, latin, vocals.
Part 3. Asialakay - An upbeat introduction, smooth r&b vocals over sweet melodies and sampled lyrics ranging from relationships, to self reflection, to rebellion, and energy.
Asia Lakay is a freelance production and performance artist specializing in original music production and live show performance. When not performing live at venues & after hours events, she is composing custom instrumentals for animated series’ and remix features for DJ’s and bloggers. She enjoys dancing to new music, shopping for equipment and fashion, meeting new people at live events and chatting with friends online through social networking.
She had a goal of learning audio production as a kid. She was raised by an immigrant teen mom and grandmothers who exposed her to American music ranging from Grandmaster Flash, Parliament Funkadelik, and Stevie Wonder to Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Etta James, and Gospel. Having received music performance and audio production education in Massachusetts, she is gaining a reputation for tangible and authentic songwriting that incorporates everyday reality and fantasy themes.
She bought her first MAC computer while living in Las Vegas, Nevada and has amassed a collection of hundreds of genre-defying instrumentals and original songs. In addition to the above named activities, she gives freelance lessons in audio production, ranging from topics such as tracking instruments in Garageband, Composing Beats with Midi in Ableton Live, and Mastering Audio with Logic.
